The Comis MIHR® - Minimally Invasive Hip Resurfacing

The Comis MIHR® Minimally Invasive Hip Resurfacing is the very first hip resurfacing implant designed from initial concept specifically for MIS. Another benefit is that it is also deliverable as an open surgery implant.

The Comis patented instrumentation and prosthesis implant range is unique in that it is designed for near assistant free insertion through an incision of between just 6.0cm - 8.5cm. Additionally, the whole retraction system is of a very low profile design, with none of the retracting instruments or components protruding more than 2.5cm above skin level for the surgeon's ease of use. This 6.0cm - 8.5cm incision compares with what is considered the industry norm of hip replacement and hip resurfacing surgery requiring an incision of 25cm. A complete range of implants has been designed and will be in production shortly.

Comis Leg Length System

The Comis Leg Length Kit - Minimally Invasive Hip Resurfacing

The Comis Leg Length system comprises a set of reusable surgical instruments to aid the correct position of the femur relative to the acetabulum during a total hip replacement. It also allows alteration of the leg length & lateral offset to re-establish joint centre of rotation.

The concept of the Leg Length System is to provide an initial datum measurement of the joint position prior to dislocating the hip joint. Corrections can be made to alter the datum position according to estimates made from the x-rays prior to surgery. The patient's anatomy can be adjusted using the trial implants to meet the positioning shown by the Leg Length system.
