Hip Resurfacing

Hip resurfacing has been developed as an alternative to total hip replacement, typically for younger or more active patients. Less bone is removed and the larger femoral head size compared to THR potentially means less risk of dislocating the artificial joint during higher levels of activity. If the Hip Resurfacing does require replacing itself in years to come, it is potentially an easier operation than renewing a total hip replacement.
